DEFEAT IN DARWIN
by maunds

Guys
There are many more adjectives to use to describe last night’s game, but for me frustrating was my feeling.
We were waiting for Richmond to come good and win the game but unfortuantelyit never happend.
In a game where there were many errors,Port made less than us,tookt heir chances and won the game.
This was a game we all expected the Tigers would win by 10 goals but not to be.
I feel very sorry for those that made the trek to Darwin only to come away very disappointed.
I don’t want to watch any footy programs on Fox as it will only be a reminder of how we let a very ordinary side knock us off.
We now have two weeks to stew until the Sydney game which makes it even worse.
If you are looking for a ticket to Swans game may have a couple of spare tickets.

Hopefully the players will be angry at themselves for letting a golden opportunity slip and they can produce a much better performance against the Swans.

Don’t forget to let me know if you are attending Bar 333 on Saturday July 11th at 7-00PM.

We also now have a facebook page -Richmond Tigers Sydney Supporters Group

DREAMTIME GAME
by maunds

Richmond has made three changes to its team for Saturday night’s Blockbuster Dreamtime at the ‘G’ clash with Essendon.
Shane Tuck (ribs) returns after injury, while Mitch Farmer and Andrew Browne will make their first appearances in the Tiger line-up this season.
They replace Shane Edwards, who sustained a fractured cheekbone in last Sunday’s loss to the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium, and Angus Graham and Ben Nason, who have both been omitted. Tuck has been sidelined since damaging his ribs in Richmond’s Round 6 victory over Brisbane at the MCG.
Jeromey Webberley, David Astbury and Jayden Post have been named as the Tigers’ emergencies for Saturday night’s game.
Essendon have injuries,so did the Doggies and they were too good for us.
I think we were outclassed last week, did well to kick 18 goals, but leaking too many points, second worst in the AFL.Something we need to correct.
Watched AFL 360 last night and they made the point that it’s the system not the players that help a club win games.Essendon have players out but their system is very effective so this will be a rough game. Our system of ball movement is effective but as Jack Gibson-succesful league coach used to say you get your defence in order.
I am down for the game but expecting a big crowd at the Camelia Grove.
There will a raffle on the night with 3 prizes

3 IN A ROW?
by maunds

The Tigers will be aiming for three in a row when they take on Fremantle on Saturday 4-10 at the MCG.
Fremantle don’t have a good record at the MCG but they are a much improved Club.
The Tigers had a close victory over Freo last year and will be confident of a victory on Saturday.

Again they must aim for a four quarter effort and particuarly a good start.
Daniel Jackson in for Shane Tuck,so we lose nothing there.
Get to the Camelia Grove Hotel to watch the game with fellow Tigers.

2 IN A ROW
by maunds

G’Day Happy Tigers

Always happy after a Tigers win, especially 2 in a row.
A 26 point win in the end which was comfortable ,although at times
we were challenged by Brisbane who were inspired by their veterans Black and Power.

Herein lies where we are better positioned, these two players are at the back end of their careers,
our 2 oldest players are Newman and Miler, who are both still going quite well.

Our inspiration is coming from young guns-Riewoldt,Martin,Cotchin and the like.

We are starting to develop a list of players that will take the club forward.
Clearly Riewoldt and Martin are going to be superstars for many years to come.

We are now starting to get a nice balance of good young players along with those guys
who have been in the system for a few years now.

Our recruiting has been good this year, love Grigg, just a strong player.
Houli off Half Back a great decison maker and his defensive game very good on Saturday.
Conca is a good player,Batchelor looks comfortable.
Brad Miller is doing some good things.
I believe every player has improved form last season, and Robbie Nahas
and Jake King are playing out of their skin.

We still have Kel Moore and Ben Griffiths to come back, along with Mitch Farmer,so things
looking good going forward.
These are the best players from the Richmond website.
Richmond: Foley, Martin, Nahas, Houli, King, Cotchin

My old favourite Nathan Foley had 40 possessions,I know there were some frustrated
at his overuse of handball, but the fact is he is working hard enough to get the footy
got some good clearances, probably wasn’t our most influential player, but certainly
in our best 6,
But it is great to see him getting back to his best after a long time out of footy.
Probably Dusty and Robbie Nahas our most influential players,
Robbie is working so hard up forward and down back and along with Jake King
was dangerous up forward along with Jack who kicks a lazy 5 goals.

It’s good to have our second win, sitting just outside the 8,percentage needs to be improved,
scoring points this year is not a problem but we need to tighten up.

We have some winnable games coming up,Freo will be tough but we should be a chance
in Melbourne.

Again a great turnout at the Camelia Grove on Saturday night, over 20 people,so we are getting
good numbers, special mention to Shane Bezzant who travelled form Hornsby on the train, that’s commitment.
I think people enjoy coming to the Camelia Grove,it’s a nice pub the food is good and the staff are friendly.
I recommend you get along to enjoy the atmosphere.
