It was a great day at the Cammy watching round seven Port v Tigers. Everyone got into the spirit of the game which was dominated by the Tigers from the first bounce of the ball. Great to have a win and great to share the day with everyone at the Cammy

Round 7 2013 a win over Port and a win in the Raffle

Hello all Tiger Fans… Today the Tigers play Port, and we should be good for a win.

TV Coverage today starts at 1:30pm and will be telecast live at the Cammy, our home ground pub to watch all our matches. so get down and enjoy the game with your fellow Tiger fans

Also get a handful of Raffle tickets and go in the draw for the meat tray, wine, beers and choccies… drawn at half time.. Peter and I (Colin) will be selling tickets so dig deep and support the SRT (Sydney Richmond Tigers).

Tonight we are at Home on the MCG playing the Cats, yes the MIGHTY Cats.

For too long Geelong have had the wood on us and too many times we have been dished out quite considerable spankings from them, but lets not go there..

We need to cast our memories back to Round 9, 2006 at Kardinia Park (or what ever it was called back then) to recall the last recent memory of the Tigers dishing it out to the Cats, who can forget Chris Hyde’s play where he “borked” his opponent just on the 50 metre line, gained some valuable distance between him and goal and steadied and goaled, that one bit of play that day typified the whole match that day, we were BETTER than Geelong, unfortunately, it all went pair shaped for us against Geelong from then on, they become a regular top 8 team making finals and winning flags from that year onward.

Tonight , I feel we wont have to play “above ourselves” we simply need to play “with in” our capabilities and we can and should match them, we have a very fast running team, one of the best midfield going around, our clearances have improved, and we move the ball very quickly from end to end, and as Delideo showed us recently, from centre bounce to goal, the problem is, so does Geelong, and they have been doing it longer than us, yet history counts for nothing, and tonight it is back to square one, and we move forward, literally i hope.

Richmond has made four changes for Friday night’s Round 5 clash with Fremantle at Patersons Stadium.

The Tigers’ first pick (No. 9 overall) in the 2012 AFL National Draft, Nick Vlastuin, will make his AFL debut.

Vlastuin, a talented, tough, inside midfielder, who captained Vic Metro in last year’s national under-18 championships, has been knocking on the door of senior selection since showing impressive form with the Tigers in the league’s pre-season competition.

Another promising, young Richmond midfielder, Brad Helbig, has been recalled to the side after a string of strong performances at VFL level with Coburg.

Helbig, who was sidelined for a lengthy period last season with a torn ligament in his left foot, has played a total of 15 league games since debuting in 2011.

Also returning to the Tigers’ line-up for the match against the Dockers are running, left-foot defender Jake Batchelor and speedy utility Matthew White.

Those four players replace Steven Morris (suspended), Troy Chaplin (calf injury), Reece Conca (foot injury) and Shane Tuck (rested).
